Colourful Copenhagen

After three nights in Stockholm, we headed to Copenhagen on Easter day. After Stockholm, what really stood out for me about Copenhagen was all the colour.

We arrived in the evening, so we headed to dinner at Kødbyens Fiskebar – an industrial-style restaurant in the former meat market serving simple seafood dishes. I’m not a fan of seafood, so I ordered the only meat dish on the menu – the pigeon, which was not quite to my taste, but that’s not really the restaurant’s fault. We got to talking to the waiter and he asked where we were from, then apparently told the head chef, who is also from London, and we ended up getting a tour of the kitchen.

Dessert was the best part of the meal. They make their own ice cream as well.

And then we headed to a highly recommended bar, Ruby. Very cool vibe and custom cocktails.

You can’t really see it, but that’s me doing a headstand at the foot of the tree.

Agnete and the Merman is a group of bronze sculptures in Copenhagen, Denmark, located underwater in the Slotsholm Canal next to the Højbro Bridge. They portray a merman and his seven sons with outstretched arms, begging Agnete to return home.

Had to take a Danish pastry home!

One day isn’t really enough to truly enjoy Copenhagen, but it was still a great trip. We really got to see a lot, not just because of this great itinerary, but also because Alex graciously walked around with us, sharing unique insight about the city!
